An overview of Green Idea Lab

The Green Idea Lab (GIL) is the Design, Consulting and Research arm of Biodiversity Conservation India Ltd. (BCIL).

Over the past 14 years BCIL has pioneered the development of green buildings with sound sustainable architecture. Over one million sq. ft. of award-winning ‘green buildings’ have been created so far for blue chip clients.

These community-based campuses have set new benchmarks for architectural design as well as sustainability. BCIL has won 5 national and global awards for its discerning work in the last 6 years, including the distinguished Ryutaro Hashimoto Award for ‘mainstreaming sustainability’ in 2008.

Market need—from corporates and individuals alike-- has been growing for creating such buildings. The BCIL group’s mission objective of mainstreaming such building technologies will be better served with extension of such professional Building Advisory to individuals and organizations seeking sustainability in their projects.

GIL offers architectural design and consulting services for individual homes (also called GIL Lite), and for larger projects in the corporate or SME domain it offers end-to-end Design and Build (D&B) services.

GIL’s expertise in creation of Operation Protocols in Hotels and Tourism Retreats for water, energy and waste management is well known.

GIL’s strength lies in its continuing applied research for helping buildings to think. The Research Lab (from which it takes its name) is a springboard for innovative ideas and technologies that are at the heart of such green buildings and cutting-edge technologies for efficient building management systems.

GIL’s Services emphasise achieving of savings on capital costs, and reducing running costs of building systems and processes.
