What is the Korean Green New Deal?
On July 14, 2020, the Korean government presented the Korean New Deal Policy to overcome the economic downturn following the COVID-19 outbreak and shift to a low-energy-consuming social structure.
Thus, Green Growth, which has grown independently despite having lost its initial momentum, once again attracts attention by its new name, “Green New Deal.”
The Korean government put forward plans for a financial investment of 16 trillion won in the Korean New Deal, composed of the Digital New Deal, Green New Deal, and strengthened social safety net.
The Korean Green New Deal, one of the Korean New Deal initiatives, is a policy designed to stimulate the economy by investing 73.4 trillion won (62 billion dollars, $1 = ￦1,184) by 2025 in the eight large-scale programs.
