Byung Il Jang
For more than a decade, Byung Il Jang has helped institutions qualify for international climate finance. After working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, he was a senior manager in Samil PwC’s Sustainability & Climate Change team (2015–2019), where he worked on a Korean state-owned bank’s GCF accreditation and led its response to the Accreditation Panel’s review of environmental and social safeguards. The bank was accredited.
Since founding Green Idea Lab in 2020, he has advised a national research institute through every step of becoming a GCF Readiness Delivery Partner and, more recently, helped an international organization meet the conditions attached to its GCF accreditation. He is an Invited Professor at the KAIST Graduate School of Green Growth and Sustainability, where he teaches climate technopreneurship.
